Sunday, January 27, 2019- Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden

2019-01-07
The January Audubon field trip, scheduled for Sunday the 27th, will be a special visit to the Cincinnati Zoo. Our leader will be Randy Morgan, the Zoo’s Emeritus Curator of the Insectarium. A special behind-the-scenes visit to the Insectarium will be a highlight of the trip, which will also include visits to the Bird House and the Komodo Dragon and Manatee Springs exhibits.
The Zoological Society of Cincinnati was founded in 1873 and officially opened its doors in 1875, making it the second oldest Zoo in the United States. Featuring more than 500 animal and 3,000 plant species, the Zoo’s collection is one of the largest in the country. The Cincinnati Zoo is also a national leader in conservation, education and preservation of wild animals and wild spaces.
Because of space limitations in the Insectarium, this trip will be limited to ten people plus leaders, and a refundable deposit will be required. Participants will be expected to arrange their own transportation, and to cover their own costs for admission, parking and food.
People with an interest in joining this fascinating trip should send me an e-mail, jmichael@amvohio.org, by January 20 for more information. Feel free to redistribute this message to others who might have an interest.
